Crook Family Reunion 2003
Hoover, Alabama
We had about 28 people show up for the first official George and Edna Crook Family Reunion on September 20. Held in Birmingham at Gail and Jimmy's house (and wow! what a house!), it was a great "middle" point between the majority of the family in Georgia and us rebels that have moved out to Texas. And even with Isabel hovering around the Carolinas and parts north, we had great weather for our barbeque. I'm still full from all the food I managed to eat.
And speaking of food, who was it that brought that delicious fudge? And the cheesecake? I can't wait until they send us the recipe for that one! Oh, wait. I'm the one sending those out! I better get crackin'! So expect those in your email sometime soon. I'll put them up on this page as well.
Also, I will be putting pictures up shortly, so don't forget to check back in about a week for that. Don't forget to send me any of the pictures that you took at the reunion and would like to share with the rest of the family.
I hope everyone had fun at the reunion and likes (and will use) the Family Reunion notebooks that were given out. There are several people that need to thanked for all their work in putting together the notebooks - and the reunion! David is responsible for the family's genealogy information included in the front of the notebooks, Reta kept us all in touch and made sure we had notebooks to put all the bio sheets in, Heather and Reta compiled everyone's address (so you could all be invited!), Reta and Amanda compiled all the notebooks, Gail and Jimmy let us use their house (how many other folks would have been that brave?) and got the hotel information for us, and Jimmy, Wayne, and David did a fantastic job of cooking up the chicken for us. So next time you see any of these folks, give them a big hug of thanks!
But the most important thank you goes out to all of you that came. Thanks for making the reunion so fun!
