See MEET MINUTES for this month's meeting.
Channel 2 (AT&T Broadband) has also been contacted and have informed us of the porcedures and limits of material to be displayed. We will be consulting with the Field committee on the field sign.
We also will arrange for shirts, caps, etc. for club members to purchase. Roger will discuss our needs with his wife's who is in the business of making embroidered wear. He expects to bring samples and some specifics to the next meeting for us to review.
The Lake Country Sun has also been approached to carry our activities but nothing has been learned of their prqactices in this matter.
I have been learning how to put an accessable database of our member's information on our web site. I have the database complete. I now am learning how to make it accessable via the web.
I also am planning to eventually submit our web site to the main internet search engines. It has been on my mind that some people may not want their address, phone number, etc. available to the world. I can put our member data in a secure location that can only be accessed by members with a logon and password of your choice. I'm looking for feedback from the membership on the desirability of limiting the data to members only. I will seek direction from the officers and members at the Oct. regular meeting.
Membership item for discussion at October meeting:
We have had a couple of new GRCF members who applied and were approved as new GRCF members prior to their applying for AMA membership. They have not as yet furnished the club with their AMA membership number.
A reminder to ALL: under the Bylaws of Graham R/C Flyers, and a mandatory requirement of the provisions of our AMA insurance coverage, ALL GRCF members must also be current members of AMA. In order to ensure that all new club members are in fact members of AMA, the Membership Committee recommends the adoption of the following policy regarding new member applications: "Upon receipt of an application for membership to Graham R/C Flyers which does not include evidence of current AMA membership (i.e, an AMA membership number), such application will not be acted upon by the club until such AMA membership number is furnished."
This item will be on the agenda for discussion at the regular October meeting. Another REMINDER: AMA memberships will soon be up for renewal for 2002. AMA provides the club with a list of all current members sometime in February of each year. Any GRCF member who is not on that AMA roster (any member who failed to renew his AMA membership in a timely manner), will have his/her GRCF membership automatically terminated (ARTICLE VI, Section 4 of the Bylaws).
Don't let this happen to you! Get your AMA membership renewal in early!
NOTE: All intro-pilot instructors will furnish a trainer plane for individual sessions given. Intro-pilot instructors will alternate giving flying sessions on a monthly basis. Intro-pilot instructors will log all training activities.
