SPECIAL NOTICE:
This may be a preliminary news letter.
I am putting this together now because the GRCF flyin is only 3 weeks away
and many things need to be done.
Check back next week to see if there is an update.
JUNE 2 FLY-IN:
The regular club meeting will be held, early possibly on May 21 or 28 in order
to prepare for the fly-in. Please be on the lookout for info on the meeting.
There is some info on this in Zack's minutes of the last meeting.
NEXT MEETING:
Check "Next Meeting" on Contents.
NEW Gate:
Zack and his crew expect to have the new entrance to the Lake Side Air Park.
Zack's email discussed the new combination.
If you have a question regarding the combination, contact one of the officers
via email or phone.
EAA FLY-IN:
The GRCF display at the EAA fly-in on May 12 was OK.
Only 5 planes were originally on display which was dissapointing.
Brad went back home and brought several more on his.
We net'd $125 on the raffle and it was won by Steve Peirce.
We were in the main hanger which was good in some respects but
was a little out of the path of the general public traffic.
Perhaps next time we can draw attention by a little music
as the Kiwannis group did.
Bill Martin put on several flying demonstrations with his bi-plane
and was very good. I caught some of it and was impressive.
SOUTHWESTERN AEROMODELING CONFERENCE
Remember the Southwestern Aeromodeling Conference will be held at the
Arlington Convention Center on May 18th and 19th. Doors will open at 9 AM
until closing. All tickets will be available at the door only. For more
info, contact Brad Brock at 549-6842. If you are interested in going, let
him know as he attended last year and can lead the way. Last years
Conference had indoors Park Flyers and all goodies you could ever hope to
look at.
