The June meeting of Graham R/C Flyers was held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2004, at Zack Burkett Co. Attending were Zack Burkett, III, Marney Ignacio, Dick Rovnyak, Doc Dockstader, and Brad Brock.
The minutes for the April 12, 2004 Regular Meeting were approved .
Communications: Burkett reported receipt of an email from Andy McNew explaining that AMA membership is NOT required to fly at Jaycee Park in Wichita Falls. Rovnyak reported forwarding all members an email regarding the risks associated with Lithium-Ion batteries.
Officer Reports: Secretary-Treasurer Burkett reported the club shows $1,132.08 cash in bank. Burkett and Rovnyak gave a brief report on their attendance at the Haskell fly-in June 5. Rovnyak reported the local EMS and Sheriff?s office had been informed of the location of Lakeside Airpark for future reference if emergency assistance is needed.
Committee Reports: Field Committee Chairman Ignacio reported the field had been mowed recently. A short discussion was held regarding marking the hot wire fence.
Events Committee: a discussion was held of the September 11 R/C Roundup event. It was agreed to follow the same format as 2003:
Scale and non-scale event; not a Rule Book event; Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for Scale (voted on by pilots); 1st Place gets name on big trophy;
Plaque for Best Scale Flight, to be secretly judged during the day. Raffle for Bird of Time airplane; Entry fee $15 (include lunch); $5 meal ticket for non-pilots; Grab bags for pilots; CD: Castor; Event Coordinator: Rovnyak.
New Business: Dockstader to look into cost of picnic tables for Lakeside Airpark. Burkett to look into availability/cost of bleacher seating for pavilion workbench.
The July meeting was set for Monday, July 12, 2004 at 7:00 pm, Zack Burkett Co. office.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
