COMMUNICATIONS

Burkett reported receipt of the Abilene RC Society Newsletter and that he had submitted an update to AMA of the club roster.

OFFICER REPORTS

Secretary-Treasurer report: cash in banks: $835.52 and a loss year-to-date of ($566.27). He also reported a loss on the September 28 Fun Scale event of ($231.18).

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Public Relations: Rovnyak presented copies of newspaper articles on the Fun Scale event for the clubs archives. He also reported his efforts at keeping the clubs activities in the local newspaper.

Events Committee: Castor gave an analysis of the Fun Scale event: all went smoothly, although very few pilots registered. No problems encountered. Tim Davies demo was well-attended and well-received. Rovnyaks efforts at promoting the event were excellent. A brief discussion was held regarding future events and activities, such as club flying sessions, Paint Ball Combat, Introductory Pilot Day, Open House day.

Also discussed was the need to re-think our prizes and awards, as they constituted the majority of the event expense (and loss) for the Fun Scale event.

It was the consensus of the group to schedule more club gatherings at the field, perhaps holding the regular club meeting at the field every other month. To that end, the November club meeting was scheduled for Sunday, November 10 at Lakeside Airpark, with the business meeting at 2 p.m. and flying thereafter. All were encouraged to attend and bring a friend and bring a dish for a potluck meal. The gathering will be promoted locally as a come try your hand at R/C flying, with the clubs 3 Intro Pilots (Burkett, Jackson and Martin) on tap to sign up and fly with newcomers. Ignacio is to call a work day prior to the November 10 meeting if needed.

Introductory Pilot Committee: Burkett agreed to be Jim Norreds Intro Pilot instructor and scheduled their first session for Tuesday, October 15.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:36 p.m.
