The monthly meeting of Graham R/C Flyers was held on Monday, September 9, 2002 at Zack Burkett Co. office. President Ernie Jackson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Attending were members Zack Burkett, III, Dick Rovnyak, Marney Ignacio, Bob Castor, Mary Castor, Oliver Watson and President Jackson. Guests: Marilyn Watson.
Minutes from the August 12, 2002 meeting were read and approved.
COMMUNICATIONS Rovnyak reported sending pictures to Sandy Frank; Chamber of Commerce marquis rented for two days during the week of the Fun Scale Event; asked Burkett to get with The Graham Leader for a possible press release; presented caps and shirts. A motion was made and seconded to charge the following for the shirts, caps and patches (when available): Shirts, $30; caps, $15 and patches, $10. Motion prevailed. It was the consensus to leave the shirts and caps at Burketts office, where members could go during business hours to purchase (see Glenda).
OFFICER REPORTS Secretary-Treasurer report: cash in banks: $265 and a loss year-to-date of ($1,136.08). Loss a result of $900+ expense for shirts and caps.
COMMITTEE REPORTS Field Committee: Ignacio reported scheduling of a work day for Thursday, September 26.
Events Committee: Castor briefed the club on the Aresti diagrams for maneuvers for the 9-28. Also handed out materials for the event judges.
Burkett confirmed organizational details for the event . The following members are in charge: CD: Castor; Meal: Jackson; Safety Inspections/Field Safety: Brock; Concessions: Dockstader; Registration: Castors; Transmitter Impound: Bob Castor; Field Preparation: Ignacio.
All members were encouraged to attend the work day on Thursday, September 26. If needed, a work day will also be called for Friday, September 27.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
