The monthly meeting of Graham R/C Flyers was held on Sunday, July 7, 2002 at Lakeside Airpark. President Ernie Jackson called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
Attending were members Zack Burkett, III, Dick Rovnyak, Marney Ignacio, Jack G. Doc Dockstader and President Jackson.
COMMUNICATIONS
Burkett reported receipt of an e-mail concerning the Texas Scale ChampionshipU.S. Scale Masters Qualifier to be held August 10-11, 2002 at Benbrook Lake, Fort Worth, Texas. Burkett reported plans to attend the event on Saturday, August 10. Rovnyak might be able to attend. Any others interested in attending are urged to contact Burkett, Rovnyak or Jackson.
OFFICER REPORTS
Secretary-Treasurer report: cash in banks: $1,686.65 and a gain year-to-date of $284.86
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The club trainer aircraft was flown earlier and most of the bugs worked out. Buddy box worked fine.

- Confirmed: CD, Bob Castor; Event Coordinator, Zack Burkett; Field Prep, Marney Ignacio; Safety/Inspections, Brad Brock; Promotion, Dick Rovnyak; Food, Ernie Jackson; Concessions, Doc Dockstader. - To be determined: Registration, Transmitter Impound, Judging (volunteers or recommendations for chairpersons for these items are welcomed). - Awards: 3 places to be awarded. First will receive the Graham R/C Roundup Trophy and an O.S. 90 Surpass II engine; 2nd place receives a plaque and a $75 Tower Hobbies gift certificate; 3rd place receives a plaque and a $50 Tower Hobbies gift certificate. - Promotional Flyer: Rovnyak to develop a draft and have it reviewed by the Events Committee and President Jackson prior to publication. - Burkett to organize a special meeting of the Events Committee within the next two weeks to complete plans for the event.
NEW BUSINESS
Rovnyak will select some photographs to send to Dr. Sandy Frank for possible use in his monthly VP report in Model Aviation.
A discussion was held regarding fencing off the flying field to keep cattle off the site. It was the consensus to spend money on new paving for the runway rather than on fencing.
The August meeting was not discussed but normal schedule (second Monday of the month) would set Monday, August 12, 2002 at Zack Burkett Co. office as the next meeting date. Actual date and time will be posted on the club website, or contact Dick Rovnyak for details at 549-3989.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
