GRAHAM R/C FLYERS
REGULAR MEETING
Sept 10, 2001

The regular monthly meeting of Graham R/C Flyers was held on Monday, September 10, 2001at Zack Burkett Co. offices. President Jackson called the meeting to order at 6:58 p.m.

Attending were members Zack Burkett, III, Vic Bailey, Roger Robinson, Dick Rovnyak, Bob Castor, Oliver Watson, Lloyd McAfee and President Jackson. Guest: Mrs. Bob Castor.

Minutes for the August 13 meeting were reviewed and approved.

COMMUNICATIONS

Burkett reported 6 questionnaires on committee preferences were returned by the members. Burkett will send out an e-mail reminder to those who had not returned the questionnaires to do so ASAP. Burkett and Jackson will review the questionnaires prior to the October meeting and committee assignments will be made and announced at the October meeting.

REPORTS OF OFFICERS

Treasurer Burkett reported cash in bank of approximately $1,580.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Events Committee: Jackson will contact Brad Brock as to his willingness to chair this committee. Castor agreed to do so if Brock is unable.

Public Relations Committee: Rovnyak reported information now posted to the club website and passed around a roster for member info updates. Suggestions were offered as to getting club meeting notices in the newspaper and on the radio and on the Channel 2 TV info list.

Field Committee: Bailey reported the field has been recently mowed and repairs made to the windsock. Suggested improvements include painting the pavilion posts and trusses, installing removable rails around the pavilion to kepp cattle out, and a sign on the highway. Bailey will call a work day when necessary.

Introductory Pilot Program Committee: The following members were designated to be AMA-approved Introductory Pilots: Ernie Jackson, Roger Robinson and Zack Burkett, III. Burkett will fill out and submit the required form and remittance to AMA.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Trophies from Bob Castor: Castor is to poll the members as to possible names for the trophies and report back at the October meeting.

Prototype safety cage for pilot stations: Jackson reported Bill Martin has constructed one that should work very well.

Bailey agreed to develop a cost estimate for a chain link safety fence.

NEW BUSINESS

None.

PROGRAM

Rovnyak presented his Great Planes Fundango, a sport aerobatic airplane with 380 Speed electric motor with reduction drive and his "Bug" hand-launched glider built from R/C Modeler plans.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
