GRAHAM R/C FLYERS
REGULAR MEETING
March 12, 2001

The regular stated meeting of Graham R/C Flyers was held on Monday, March 12, 2001, at 7:00 p,m. at Zack Burkett Co. offices. Vice-President Brock called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m.

Attending were members Zack Burkett, III, Brad Brock, Bill Martin, Dick Rovnyak, Bob Castor, Sean Puryear, Roger Robinson, Vic Bailey and Jim Roberts. Guests in attendance were John Puryear, Mrs. Bob Castor, Rick and Lane Harding and Karen Lemoine.

Minutes for the February 12 meeting were reviewed and approved.

OFFICER REPORTS

Zack Burkett, III gave the Secretary-Treasurers report and reported on those members not paid for 2001. He agreed to send a letter to all delinquent members to encourage them to pay their 2001 dues. He also reported receipt of a letter from RCHTA to the effect that they were again sponsoring their annual media awards program. Brad Brock noted that Vic Bailey had been awarded the Dirty Dozen award by AMA District XIII for outstanding service to the sport.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Cattle guard entrance. Burkett reported he had looked into the location but had not gotten TxDOT approval for the location but would do so before the next meeting. Bill Martin agreed to locate the cattle guard he is donating and get with Burkett on delivering it to the site.

Caps and Shirts: President Jackson was to have reported on this item. In his absence, the matter was tabled.

Southwestern Areomodelers ConferenceMay 17-19, Arlingtonbrief discussion was held.

Club airplanediscussedno formal action or decision reached.

EAA Fly-In May 12: Burkett agreed to be event coordinator. He is to organize the event and delegate the various duties. Bill Martin agreed to oversee the demo flying for the event.

Club Fun-Fly June 2: Brock agreed to serve as event coordinator. Safety netting was discussed and a motion made, seconded and passed to obtain 2 additional rolls of the safety netting and t-posts to erect a barrier between the flight line and pit area. Burkett will see to getting the materials purchased. A work day is to be scheduled as soon as the field dries up.

NEW BUSINESS

AMA Introductory Pilot Program: discussed and agreed that Burkett and Robinson would be submitted to AMA as Introductory Pilots for the club.

New member: Lane Hardings membership application was accepted. Upon a motion and second, the application was approved unanimously.

PROGRAM

Jim Roberts presented his immaculate Top Flite Gold Edition P-47 Jug.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm.
