GENERAL INFORMATION

We are a young club having started in 1999 to promote the hobby/sport of building and flying radio-controlled (R/C) model aircraft. GRCF members range in age from teens to retirees. Although most of the members are male, the ladies are most certainly welcomed. Memberships types include Junior (under age 19), Regular and Family. Annual dues are $20 for Juniors, $30 for Regulars, and $50 for Family memberships. Membership is open to any individual or family without regard to age, race, sex or religious affiliation. Membership in the Academy of Model Aeronautics is required to join GRCF.

Club meetings are held monthly on the second Monday evening of each month (currently being held at 7:00 p.m. in the offices of Zack Burkett Co., located east of Graham Municipal Airport on U.S. 380). Anyone interested in R/C is welcome to attend. Flying sessions at the club's flying field, Lakeside Airpark, are typically unscheduled, and the field is available to members at all times. The public is welcome at the field whenever members are present. Lakeside Airpark is located approximately 3 miles west of Graham on F.M. 61, accross the highway from the Graham Country Club golf course. It boasts a 30 ft x 300 ft paved runway and a 20 ft x 60 ft covered pavilion. The field is maintained by the club

We have an introductory pilot program that provides a plane, R/C equipment and an instructor to potential new pilots for a 30 day trial. This program provides the opportunity to investigate the individual's interest and skill prior to investing in the their own equipment or AMA and club fees.

Currently, GRCF sponsors two flying events each year at Lakeside Airpark; a fun-fly, usually in late spring/early summer and a new event, called Fun Scale, in the fall. The Club also participates each year in the annual Graham Air Fair held at Graham Municipal Airport. Club members also travel and participate in a number of R/C events held around north Texas area each year.
